The following are its main uses in industry and corresponding usage methods:
Main industrial applications
1. Casting industry (sand binder)
Usage: As a bonding agent for casting sand molds (cores). Yellow dextrin will coke at high temperatures, leaving gaps, making the sand mold have excellent retreat and collapsibility, making it easy to clean the sand after casting and cooling.
Usage: Mix yellow dextrin powder (usually added in an amount of 1% -3% of the weight of the molding sand) with other auxiliary materials such as quartz sand and bentonite, and then mix and grind with water. After the evaporation of water, dextrin acts as a bonding agent, providing sufficient strength to the sand mold.
2. Ceramic industry (body bonding agents and glaze additives)
Purpose:
Usage: Dissolve cyclodextrin in hot water to make a solution, then add it to ceramic slurry or glaze slurry, stir evenly.
3. Refractory material industry
Usage: As a temporary bonding agent for refractory bricks and amorphous refractory materials (such as ramming materials and castables). Provide strength before high-temperature firing, complete combustion without leaving ash during firing, and do not affect the final performance of refractory materials.
Usage: Add the powder directly to the dry material and mix well, or add it after making a solution.
4. Textile industry (warp sizing agent)
Usage: As a traditional or environmentally friendly warp sizing agent, it makes the surface of the yarn smooth, the fuzz adheres, and the strength increases to withstand the friction and tension during the weaving process. Due to its biodegradability, it has applications in environmentally demanding scenarios.
Usage: Mix with other sizing agents (such as PVA, acrylic ester), dissolve them in a sizing tank to make a sizing agent, and apply it to the yarn through a sizing machine.
5. Manufacturing of grinding wheels and grinding tools
Usage: As an organic binder in the molding process of grinding tools (such as grinding wheels and oilstones), it is mixed with abrasives (such as corundum and silicon carbide), pressed and formed, and then cured at low temperature to provide initial strength, making it easy to handle and repair. Finally, it is burned off during high-temperature sintering.
Usage: Dry mix the powder with abrasives and other fillers, or mix after making a solution.
6. Paper products and packaging industry
Purpose:
Usage: Prepare a suitable concentration of adhesive solution and apply it by coating or spraying.
7. Other uses
Coal binder: used to press coal powder or charcoal powder into coal or charcoal rods.
Fireworks and firecrackers: used as adhesives and flame retardants for fireworks.
Battery industry: used as an electrolyte gelatinizer in zinc carbon batteries.

Summary of Core Advantages
As a low-cost, renewable, biodegradable, non-toxic and environmentally friendly natural based polymer material, the core value of cyclodextrin lies in providing 'temporary' but critical process strength, and being able to 'disappear' through combustion or decomposition in subsequent processes without affecting the core performance of the final product. In the pursuit of green manufacturing and sustainable development, it still maintains an irreplaceable position in many traditional industrial fields.
